The Kardashian-Jenner family is rocking it this year when it comes to their Christmas Eve celebration.
In a recent interview with Vogue, Kim Kardashian revealed that the family opted for a more intimate, low-key gathering instead of the usual extravagant entertainment.
“We’re having a really low-key Christmas Eve party this year,” Kim, 44, explained in a clip posted on Fashion’with Instagram on Saturday, December 14. The reality star was at the grand opening of her SKIMS store in New York, where she spoke to the outlet. There was nothing stopping the starlet from attending the opening ceremony as she completed the interview on a scooter after breaking her leg earlier in the month.

While the change in plans is a departure from their typical pompous events, Kim shared that it is due to some logistical issues. “There’s a lot of construction going on,” she said, making it difficult to host the large-scale party the family is known for. “So we’re doing a really intimate family event, which I’m really excited about,” she elaborated.

Despite the low-key celebration, Kim assured fans that the family will continue to go all out with their outfits. “We still dress to the nines because that’s what we do.”
Kim also hinted that this more relaxed Christmas Eve get-together doesn’t mark the end of their legendary parties. “They’re just getting started,” she teased. “Our kids love them and now all their friends want to come. It’s such a fun tradition.”

Although the extravagant get-togethers are taking a temporary hiatus, the parties have historically been major affairs, with former celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez and John Legend. While the parties were initially hosted by matriarch Kris Jenner at her home, the family has taken turns hosting over the years. Last year, Kim’s estate was transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with fake snow and a ski lodge, while Kourtney’s 2021 party featured a magical all-red theme with performances from Sia and a host of festive activities for the kids.
So while this year’s celebration may be more toned down, it’s clear that the Kardashian-Jenners are keeping the holiday spirit alive in their own special way.
