Ryan Seacrest is the big cheese in the world right now Wheel of Fortune set, so it’s no surprise that he celebrated his milestone 50th birthday with a very unique cake.
Maggie Sajak, daughter of former host Pat Sajak and the show’s social correspondent, posted a video of Seacrest’s salty meal on Instagram.
“You’re a healthy guy, so I’m not at all surprised we don’t have a traditional birthday cake,” she told Seacrest, who joined her and Vanna White in front of a four-story “dessert” decorated with oranges, grapes and flowers.
“On important days, you can go a little off schedule,” Seacrest explained.
While at first it looked like he was talking about cheating on a diet, he hinted that not everything is as it seems when Sajak told her to smell the cake and asked about her first impression.
“Strong!” she replied, and Seacrest then asked if the cake had a not-so-sweet “sock” smell.
White’s dismay proved Seacrest right.

Sajak said she was looking forward to tasting the cheesecake she heard was planned for Seacrest’s birthday bash, but admitted she was “a little less excited” when she found out it was made with slices of Swiss, Gruyère and other types of cheese . .
While Seacrest admitted that feasting on the fine cheese birthday cake was a “first” for him, he showed that he’s adaptable and can use the cake like a true fondue fan if no one else was eating it.
It’s no surprise as Seacrest, who celebrated his 50th birthday on Tuesday, December 24, has said that his birthdays are usually “all about fun” and “food.”
The next big screw-up on Seacrest’s agenda? He is about to repeat his annual gig as host Dick Clark is New Year’s Eve Rockin’ Eve in New York, welcoming stars from Carrie Underwood and Rita Ora to Cody Johnson and the Jonas Brothers on Tuesday, December 31.
