Britney Spears admits she doesn’t react well to people writing toxic things about her online.
The iconic pop star shared an Instagram post on Friday, Dec. 20, detailing why she decided to pull one of her latest dance videos.
“I made a video of myself dancing because so many people said so many mean things… if only they knew how serious my grief is,” Spears revealed in an Instagram post. “It’s a freaking miracle from God that I was acting and dancing, period. It’s crazy!!!”
Along with the post, she shared a video of a boat trip where she was by the water. The post also featured several photos she took while out and about, including some of her own that were turned into memes.
Spears has continued to defend the dance videos she so often posts.
“There’s so much that I haven’t even shown, but it makes me sad that people say nasty things about me, I’m sick as hell when people say that it bothers them, and when you don’t like the way I move , f–k off and no don’t watch!!!” she wrote.
It’s not the first time Spears has spoken out about her detractors – who include Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne, who has since apologized to the singer after saying she “shouldn’t be doing the same fucking dance every day” and “change a few moves .” Abby Lee Miller of Dance Moms she’s also taken a few shots at Spears in the past, calling her dance videos perverted.
Spears recently celebrated her 43rd birthday shortly after officially announcing her divorce from model Sam Asghari. The former couple were rumored to be dating as far back as 2016, but didn’t go public with their relationship until 2017. Asghari proposed to Spears in 2021, and the duo married in 2022. Spears and Asghari split in August 2023, and the divorce was later given in the month of Asghari.
