Kim Kardashian found a way to turn an unfortunate injury into a fashion statement.

The 44-year-old reality star recently shared a photo of her broken foot wrapped in a unique, off-white, gauze-covered “shoe” on her Instagram Story and X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

The custom shoe, which resembled a wedge boot, caused a wave of admiration from fans at X, with many commenting that it was bound to set a new trend.

“You’re always the head of your time in the fashion world. This is going to be tough,” said one fan. Another said: “Broken leg but make it fashionable!!!!” along with a gif of Kardashian pointing and nodding her head in agreement. “when you break your ankle but still want to go out 💁‍♀️,” said a third fan.

Others wished Keeping Up with the Kardashians alum get well soon. “Feel better! Looks like you overdid it!” commented one concerned fan. Another warned: “Now that the store opening is over, stay home and get well.”

Kim revealed her foot injury — though she left out the details — earlier this month when she posted a photo of herself wearing a medical boot. Image caption “FML 🤬Broken leg for the holidays.” The SKIMS founder also added Fergie’s “Clumsy” to the post.

The influencer was seen getting around on a scooter at the grand opening of her SKIMS flagship store in New York. She revealed at the event that her family will have a quiet Christmas together this year and forgo the usual lavish Christmas Eve feast. In an interview with FashionKim revealed the reason for the change of plans.

“There’s a lot of build-up, so we’re doing a really intimate family event, which I’m really excited about,” she elaborated.

The Kardashian-Jenner clan is known for its extravagant (and expensive) Christmas Eve parties, which are now hosted by several family members. Originally hosted by Kris Jenner at her home, Kim took turns hosting at her mansion last year, which was transformed into a stunning winter wonderland with artificial snow and a ski lodge. In 2022, Sia appeared at Kourtney Kardashian’s party.
