It may be the holidays, but that doesn’t mean Kelly Clarkson can’t still throw shade.
The American Idol winner took a dig at her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock on Wednesday, Dec. 18, in a Christmas album preview video the 42-year-old singer shared. When it’s Christmas… Again it looks warm and cozy with ornate fireplace clips.
However, fans couldn’t help but notice that after hanging up the Christmas stockings that read “Mommy, River and Remy,” a fourth stocking was seen that was simply labeled “No.” They quickly took to the comments on the YouTube video, with one person writing: “So healing! Mom River Remy and Nope are so cute and adorable.”
“NO. I feel you Kelly 😂❤,” another fan commented.
Fans also shared the clip on X (formerly Twitter), with one person posting: “Stem ‘Nope’… Kelly Clarkson is perfect.”
“Kelly clarkson’s constant shade towards her…ex-husband will forever hold my breath,” another fan wrote.
Clarkson shares two children with ex Blackstock, who she was married to from 2013 to 2021. They had daughter River in 2014 and son Remington in 2016. (Blackstock also shares children Savannah and Seth with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth.)
Fans were probably vocal about the stocking, which appeared to be a dig at Clarkson’s ex over their messy divorce. The pair finalized their contentious divorce in March 2022, two years after the “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” singer filed, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Clarkson was awarded primary custody of their children and agreed to pay her ex $45,601 a month in child support in a 2022 divorce settlement. In addition, it authorized the payment of $115,000 per month to Blackstock until January 2024.
The Kelly Clarkson Show the star also paid him a one-time fee of $1.3 million. Blackstock was ordered to pay Clarkson $12,500 a month in rent while he was living at their Montana ranch at the time.
Clarkson’s latest Christmas album, When it’s Christmas… Again is available now on streaming and in stores.
