Alone at home is one of the most popular Christmas movies of all time.
Starring Macaulay Culkin as 8-year-old Kevin McAllister, the film gave us many iconic moments and lines that still permeate popular culture today.
The film was released in 1990 and its sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York followed in 1992.
Alone at home follows the McAllister family preparing to travel to Paris, France, but in the midst of the chaos, they forget to take their son Kevin with them to the airport. Unbeknownst to the family and Kevin, who is stuck at home, their huge house is surrounded by “The Wet Bandits” (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern), two robbers who use the holidays to loot people’s belongings.
What follows is a hilarious comedy of events where an eight-year-old boy not only learns to take care of himself at home, but also sets the most elaborate traps to keep would-be thieves at bay.

Located in Winnetka, Illinois, the 9,000-square-foot Georgian-style property was built in 1921 and offers five bedrooms and six bathrooms.
It was put on the market earlier this year with an asking price of $5.25 million.
The home was valued at $620,000 in 1990 and last sold in 2012 for $1.6 million.

He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023 and was joined at the ceremony by his on-screen mom Catherine O’Hara.

Heard played Peter McCallister, Kevin’s father in the film.
Heard died of cardiac arrest in 2017 at the age of 71. He had a prolific career and appeared in titles such as Modern family, escort and The Sopranos and movies White Chicks, The Pelican Brief and Large.

Comedy legend O’Hara recently completed her Emmy-winning role as Moira Rose on the TV series. Schitt’s Creek.
She also acted in films Beetlejuice, Lemony Snicket is a series of unfortunate events and Best in Show.

Devin Ratray – Buzz
Ratray played Kevin’s abusive brother Alone at home and is still a part of the film world.
He played Buzz again in the Disney+ movie Home Sweet Home Alone and partnered with Airbnb to offer a lucky group the chance to stay in the original Alone at home house.
Ratray has had a number of legal troubles, including domestic violence charges to which he pleaded guilty earlier this year.
Angela Goethals – Linnie
Kevin’s older sister Linnie was portrayed by Goethals, a child star.
After home alone she has had roles in a variety of television and film roles, but her work has mainly focused on theater on and off Broadway.
Michael C. Maronna – Jeff
Jeff was one of Kevin’s older siblings and Maronna continued to play for a while Alone at home but eventually moved behind the camera.
He spent most of the 2010s working in the camera and electrical department on many sets before returning to film acting this year, I saw the TV glow.
Hillary Wolf – Megan
Wolf played the last of the McAllister children, but her career was short-lived. She retired from acting in 1992 Home Alone 2 he was released.
She focused her efforts on her judo career and represented the USA in the 1996 and 2000 Olympics.
Gerry Bamman – Uncle Frank
The grumpy uncle was portrayed by character actor Bamman, who has barely been out of work since the mid-1980s.
When not acting, Bamman works as a playwright.
