Alicia Keys is a proud stepmother.

On Sunday, December 22, the 43-year-old singer posted a birthday tribute to her stepson Kassem Jr. on Instagram. (KJ), who is 18 years old. The “Girl on Fire” singer has been married to record producer Swizz Beatz since 2010, making her the stepmother to his son KJ, whom he shares with ex-wife Mashonda Tifrere.

The singer-songwriter posted a carousel of 19 photos celebrating KJ on the platform, including family vacations, birthdays and an award show where KJ posed with actor Daniel Radcliffe. The first photo is a sweet selfie of the couple with their faces touching. In a second photo, Keys added a photo of herself with KJ, Beatz, 46, and Tifre, 46, on a boat celebrating the teen’s college acceptance.

The 16-time Grammy winner wrote a heartfelt caption for her post, gushing about how bright KJ’s future is.

“My amazing young king @yayachronicles !! You are absolutely unstoppable! I am so excited for every moment this year will bring! This is just the beginning of things you can’t even imagine!” Keys wrote. “Keep up the hard work and bring light and gratitude wherever you go!!!! Tomorrow’s blessings will be greater than we can imagine today!!!”

The “If I Ain’t Got You” singer also congratulated KJ on getting into New York University, in her caption, “Love you Kassy!! Always yours Umi!!! 😍😍😍 Congrats on NYU babyyyyyyyy!!! !!!!!!!!!”

In addition, KJ, ex Voice the trainer is also the stepmother to Beatz’s two other children from past relationships: Prince, 23, with Tifrero, and Nicole, 16, with Jahna Sabastian. Keys also shares two sons of her own with the rapper: Egypt, 13, and Genesis, 9.
