Let’s face it, we all like to get lost in a reality show now and then. They’re versatile, easy to follow, and sometimes just what you need after a long day.
People have been devouring Netflix classics like Selling Sunset, Love is Blind, and Under Deck, but maybe you’ve run out of episodes and are ready for something new.
Here are five titles on the streaming service that you may not have gotten your hands on yet that will scratch the reality show itch. They may not be the most acclaimed shows on Netflix, and they may not be the best, but they’re certainly some of the funniest, according to our tastes.
Sexy beasts
Sexy Beasts is as messy as it sounds. It’s a dating show that takes looks out of the equation by transforming people with prosthetics and sending them out on dates. This show puts the looks or personality debate to the ultimate test by forcing people to make connections without knowing what the other person looks like.
Marriage or mortgage
This one is crazy. Couples come to wedding planner Sarah Miller and real estate agent Nichole Holmes with a budget for one thing: a wedding or a house. it is so. They can only have one. Sarah’s job is to convince the couple to use their money for the wedding, while Nichole lures them with her ideal homes to get them to buy a house. It’s simple, delicious and provides plenty of laughs and opportunities to scream at the screen.
Too hot to handle
Too Hot to Handle is designed to remove physical intimacy from the dating game. Ten singles are taken to the Caribbean to compete for cash prizes under the watchful eye of Lana, who takes away the money for every rule violation. It’s quite dramatic and surprisingly emotional at times and has a lot of spin-offs so you’ll never run out of episodes.
Ring
The Circle is perhaps the most unique modern reality show. Contestants are given an apartment, a screen, and a few strangers they can only talk to via instant messaging. This puts their internet savvy investigative skills to the ultimate test as they are forced to discover if everyone is really who they say they are.
The Great British Baking Show
If you want your drama to be a little more wholesome, then The Great British Baking Show is the show for you. A group of amateur bakers compete to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. It may seem sweet on the surface, but when things go awry, it can get pretty dramatic.
